The website of the 2022 AILC-ICLA Congress is now live!
The website of the XXIII AILC-ICLA Triennial International Congress: “Re-Imagining Literatures of the World: Global and Local, Mainstreams and Margins”, 24-29 July 2022, Tbilisi, Georgia is now online!
The Congress theme will be explored in its great variety through various sub-themes:
- Words and Images crossing literary and critical borders
- East and West: Literary and Cultural Paradigms
- Global South and Global North
- Minorities and/ in Literature
- Translating difference: The Other in Other Words
- Minor Literature, Small Literatures, Literatures of Small Nations
- Colonial, Postcolonial, Decolonial and Neocolonial Experiences: Rewriting Cultural History
- Gender and Sexuality in Contemporary Literature and Culture
- The post-Soviet Literary Space and the World after the Cold War
- Digital Culture: Media, Transmedia, Intermedia
Individual papers can be submitted for Congress sessions linked to these sub-themes. Additional topics for group sessions can also be proposed; if an approved group session is open, participants will be able to submit individual papers for these sessions too.
There will also be Special Sessions on Comparative Literature and Justice, with panels on:
- Literature facing the challenges of the Anthropocene
- Literature facing the challenges of racial divides: re-imagining justice
- Literature facing linguistic challenges today.
The working languages will be English, French and Georgian.
Paper proposals should be submitted in English or French.
Key deadlines for proposals:
- Group proposal submission due by: August 31, 2021
- Acceptance of group sessions announced: September 20, 2021
- Individual proposal submission (for congress sessions) starts: October 1, 2021, ends: December 31, 2021
- Special sessions submissionstarts: October 1, 2021, ends: December 31, 2021
- Acceptance of Individual papers will be communicated by: 20 February 2022
Registration deadlines:
- Early Registration Deadline: March 25, 2022
- Regular Registration Deadline:April 30, 2022
- Late Registration Deadline:June 1, 2022
